The boyfriend was first heralded as a hero for his efforts to save the two victims.
But, after mixing stories up during television interviews he was exposed as the arsonist. In his confession, the boyfriend says he was about to be evicted from the home. And if he couldn't live there, no one would. So he set the fire hoping to merely damage the home and scare the owner's, but the flames grew out of control.
